508 Mural Fest Central Arno Mural

The MetroABQ can occasionally throw quite a party. Wandering Downtown looking for murals to photograph the last week in September, we found ourselves in the middle of a new annual festival called 508 Mural Fest, which was the reason we were looking for the murals in the first place…

Above on Central Ave in the Huning Highlands neighborhood is “The Cuckoo’s Nest” by Aaron Noble with Roberto Reyes & Faustino Villa, a mural from 2014, sponsored by 516 Arts & Warehouse 508. Below is a muralist doing his/her thing during the Downtown 1st Annual 508 Mural Fest. Below are flying pigs, on the Sidetrack Brewing Co wall, which shares a wall with Zendo Coffee. Furthest below is an image–perhaps from the 508 Mural Fest mural projects, found in the alleys behind Central Ave. See the map of locations.

I love the MetroABQ area! Extraordinary architects live and create here; beautiful and profound art installations abound; Greenspaces and Parklands define whole areas of the city; extras like Farmers' Markets and cultural events add to our quality of life. I write about it all in the MetroABQ Newsletter.
